Wild Coast Sun Drift Expo enthralls enthusiasts

Car and drifting enthusiasts flocked to the Wild Coast Sun for the latest installment of the ever popular Wild Coast Sun Drift Expo on 22 July 2017 when there was thrilling drifting action and other entertainment throughout the day. Hosted in conjunction with Puren Plant Hire, the Wild Coast Sun Drift Expo has won the hearts of drifting fans since it took place for the first time in 2015.

The loudest white boy in Africa, Vic Pardal had things ticking from the get go when drivers participated in the dry run to get a feel for the track. Showcasing a few tricks, they had the crowd enthralled even before the main competition had started.  The drifting competition was eventually won by Morne Venter and second place went to Shain Ferreira after a fearsome show downs between the two drivers. Third place went to Gavin Puren after he out-drifted his younger brother, Brandon who finished in fourth place. The Driver of the Day Award went to David Rae.

The day ended with some thumping tunes by the DJ and spectators getting a chance to get up close with the drivers as they took part in suicide rides.
“The Wild Coast Sun Drift Expo was once again a spectacular event that had everybody who came revved. We had thumping sound, thrilling drift demos and great food to enjoy. The atmosphere was electrifying.

“We thank the community for coming down to join the fun as well as our staff who worked tirelessly to ensure the event’s success,” says Sandi Burger, the PR & Promotions Manager at the Wild Coast Sun.
