Emperors Palace Hotel, Casino, Convention and Entertainment Resort, Africa’s most famous poker venue, will once again host the prestigious WPT® Emperors Palace Poker Classic at the magnificent Theatre of Marcellus from 13 to 22 October 2017. Players can enter a series of low-to-high stakes poker tournaments with buy-ins ranging from free to R40 000 catering to a diverse field of poker enthusiasts. This year’s upcoming WPT® series offers a guaranteed prize pool of R10 million.
The event has been well attended by renowned local and international players in the past, including legendary poker champions Phil Ivey, Vanessa Selbst, Chris Moneymaker, Antonio Esfandiari and many others. The list will continue to grow, and local players can be confident of their chances considering defending champion and local poker enthusiast Ben Cade’s R1.5 million victory in 2015.

The main satellite event, which takes place onFriday 20 October 2017 with a R13,500 buy-in, is a WPT® highlight and gives players the chance be crowned this year’s WPT® Emperors Palace Poker Classic main event champion.
