Open Mic Jazz winner returns to shine

Worcester’s own Faniswa Namanyane returns to Golden Valley for an intimate and soul uplifting show on 24 November 2017. Faniswa, who won the Open Mic Jazz Singing Competition at Golden Valley last year, impressed the crowd again when she took to the stage at Winners Sports Bar earlier this year. Golden Valley is thrilled to welcome her back to its stage as part of its promise to give emerging talent a chance to shine.  She performs with her band from 21h00 and there is no cost to enjoy the show.

During the Open Mic Jazz Singing Competition, Faniswa captured the hearts of the judges and audiences with her silky voice and soulful interpretation of songs across a range of genres. Born and bred in Worcester, she is grounded in her Christian faith and sees herself as a minister in song. She has been singing from a young age and has a broad appreciation of a variety of music from which she draws her inspiration. The 32 year old mother of two also took third place in the Western Cape Star Search Competition in 2016 at the Mountain Mill Mall. When she is not singing her heart out she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
